I’m looking forward to Top Gear tonight, looks like the boys are comparing Ferrari California, Lambo Gallardo Spyder, and AM V8 drop top…
Nice.

Nice.
STATEMENT: For those of you who are not into cars, don’t get excited when they hear a fruity exhaust coming down the road and don’t take great pride in knowing what car it is before it comes into eyesight…LEAVE NOW, NOTHING HERE ON THIS BLOG FOR YOU.
I used to be a Ferrari nut, and I still am.
However it’s come to my attention that the new Ferrari 459 now does not come with a manual gated option? Only the flappy paddle option? This has enraged me so much that I have decided to write a blog about manual gearboxes and anything car related really.
I know all the anoraks will say that there is only now an FI option as this is because you can change gear faster, blah blah…but what about pure driving enjoyment? Surely on the road we are not trying to shave off 0.2 of a second on the way home from work? Or am I missing something here? Isn’t coming down ones box (oh err), part of the fun of driving? Can you have the same engagement tapping down on the paddle?
And before the anorak’s start to say ‘have you even tried a flappy paddle before you make assumptions?’ the answer is yes as I used to own a 360Challenge Stradale (one of the best sounding cars ever by the way)…and I owned it for over two years until the servicing started to get a little more than the lying salesman at Ferrari Egham had told me it would be ‘max’…
So I’ve created this blog for a bit of fun. I’m going to talk about my experiences driving a manual, throw sunshine on those who have a manually operated car and try to persuade others in auto’s, tiptronics, FI, SMG, whatever other versions there are, to think back to when they enjoyed driving and get a manual!
